My Life Before Couponing

L:ife is expensive as you all know. Gas prices are rising daily which causes grocery prices to raise. We have 6 people in our family. I have a teenage daughter that needs make-up and hairspray and other personal items. I have two growing boys that eat constantly. I have a baby girl in diapers. All the things that we use daily really add up and can take a huge part of your paycheck.

My Life Before Couponing

I go to Walmart with my list of things we are out of. I pay what the price tag tells me I have to pay. Why? Because my family needs these things. I fill my cart with these items and come out of the store paying over a $100. I come home and feel like we still don't have an food in the house.

Life After Couponing

I stock up on items when they are on sale and use a coupon to maximize my savings. I get some items for free using a coupon. I get multiple Sunday papers so I will have multiple coupons so I can stock up when items hit rock bottom prices.

I now shop from my own personal stock pile in my basement. I pick the prices I want to pay for things. I watch the store sales and when I see a good deal I add to my stock pile. Instead of dreading to go shopping I look foward to seeing how cheap I can get things. It has become a game for me to see how much I can get for very little money. It is such a rush to come out of a store with a cart full of stuff that only cost you $30. It gives you a sense of control.

I love couponing, it has become my new hobby. My husband and kids love that I coupon. My kids like to watch as the cashier scans my stack of coupons and watch the price go down. I love to hear the cashier or people behind me in line say "wow you saved a lot of money".

My coupons have become my money, they are how I pay for things. I can't imagine shopping without them. I feel like have learned a secret, a way to beat the system. This is why I started this blog, I wanted to let you all in on the secret and teach you how to save money and have fun doing it.
